Diane Vadino is a novelist, editor, and journalist, primarily covering travel, design, and film. She is a contributing editor at NYLON Guys magazine and formerly the executive editor of Surface magazine; her work has appeared in Marie Claire, Outside, Budget Travel, Afar, NYLON, Spin, Wallpaper*, ID, Interior Design, Readymade, Luxe, Zink, and other magazines. Additional travel writing has appeared in online outlets including Travel and Leisure.com, MSN Travel, and Globorati. St. Martins Press published her debut novel, Smart Girls Like Me, in 2008. She also writes the fashion and shopping blog Bunnyshop, named by Real Simple as one of the six best in that category.

Diane was the inaugural main staff person at Dave Eggers' literary journal McSweeney's, where her tasks included subscriber-database maintenance, heavy-box lifting, and the procurement of bat-removal experts for appearances at public readings. She has also worked as a waitress, Daily Show intern, and professional shampoo-ist. In 2007 she drove from London to Ulaan Baatar, the capital of Mongolia, as part of the Mongol Rally. Born in Philadelphia and raised in New Jersey, she now lives in Brooklyn.
